India will be the guest of honor at the 21st Lomé International Fair (FIL), scheduled to take place from November 27 to December 13, 2026, at the CETEF Togo 2000 venue. The agreement was finalized on September 17 in Lomé during a visit by India’s Ambassador to Togo, SRH Fahmi.
During his visit, the Indian diplomat expressed his appreciation for the opportunity afforded to his country to participate in this key economic and trade event in Togo.
India’s participation lends a special dimension to this 21st edition of the FIL. As a major economic power, the country is establishing itself as a significant player in international trade, boasting a Gross Domestic Product (GDP) estimated at approximately $4.15 trillion and a growth rate of 7.8% recorded in the first quarter of the 2026–2027 fiscal year.
Beyond its official participation, India’s presence at this fair opens up prospects for strengthening trade with Togo. The two countries already maintain trade relations covering areas such as pharmaceuticals, equipment, manufactured goods, fertilizers, and agricultural products, as well as other strategic sectors.
The selection of the guest of honor is a highlight of the Lomé International Fair. It showcases the partner country’s economic, industrial, cultural, and tourism potential while offering visitors and exhibitors enhanced opportunities for cooperation and business development.
The Indian Ambassador also emphasized India’s readiness to help expand market access for Togolese products.
The 21st FIL is expected to foster better connections between Togolese offerings and Indian markets, while facilitating the arrival of new investors and business partners.
This dynamic aligns with the 21st FIL’s positioning as an international platform for professional networking, partnerships, and investment. Indian participation is expected to specifically encourage B to B meetings, exchanges between business operators, investment promotion, and the identification of new cooperation opportunities.
Scheduled for November 27 to December 13, 2026, the 21st Lomé International Fair aims to strengthen its international profile and contribute to the development of economic relations between Togo and major global economies.
